Biology Club

About Dr. James Lin, M.D.

Since 2012, Dr. Lin has been teaching honors, AP and advanced Biology classes to high school and middle school students. With a B.A. in Integrative Biology (including Ecology, Plants and Animals) from UC Berkeley, an M.A. in Evolution and Animal Behavior and Human Psychology, and a Doctor of Medicine degree (Biochemistry, Cell Biology, Genetics, Human Physiology), Dr. Lin quickly earned the reputation as the best high school Biology instructor in the U.S.  His students excelled in AP Biology exams and Biology competitions, and many of them were accepted to elite colleges such as Harvard, Stanford, Yale, Princeton, MIT, among others.

Honors Biology


This private high school class covers all topics in Biology at the Honors level for students taking a Biology class for the first time. Weekly homework, lectures and lesson tests help students gain mastery of the fundamentals of Biology so they are ready to take the Intermediate Biology class at Prestige STEM Academy.


30 Sessions (9/10/2022 – 5/6/2023)​

2 Hours each Session for 30 weeks (Saturdays 5:00 - 7:00 PM PST) 

AP Biology


This private high school class prepares students for the AP Biology exam and covers only topics on the AP exam. Weekly lectures and lesson tests for the first 20 weeks is followed by intensive review and 5 practice AP Biology tests in the last 10 weeks. Students will be extremely well-prepared for the AP Biology exam.


30 Sessions (9/10/2022 – 5/6/2023)​

2 Hours each session for 30 weeks (Saturdays 1:00  - 3:00 PM PST)

Intermediate Biology


This private high school class covers all topics in Biology at the level of the first year college Biology class for majors. Weekly lectures and lesson tests help students gain mastery of the advanced concepts in Biology so they are ready to compete in Biology competitions and take Advanced Biology at Prestige STEM.


24 Sessions (9/11/2022 – 1/29/2023)​

2.5 Hours each Session for 24 weeks (Sundays 1:00 - 3:30 PM PST) 

Advanced Biology


This private high school class covers all topics in Biology at the level of the upper-level college Biology classes for majors. Weekly lectures and lesson tests help students gain mastery of the most advanced concepts in Biology that they will likely encounter in national and international Biology competitions.


24 Sessions (9/11/2022 – 1/29/2023)​
